{Gory Corey Interview} Team KR’s Youngest Member Gory Corey Talks To Skulduggery Pleasant..

Gory Corey Interviews Skulduggery Pleasant.

My daddy follows Skulduggery Pleasant @DetectiveSkul on Twitter. He asked Skulduggery if I could interview him, and he said yes!

I’m a big fan of the Skulduggery Pleasant books by Derek Landy. So far, I’ve read 12 books, and have loved them. The Skulduggery Pleasant books are full of horror, adventure, magic, and action. They are also very funny!

If you don’t know Skulduggery Pleasant, you need to check out his adventures.

He’s a skeleton detective that fights against evil with his best friend, Valkyrie Cain. He’s dead and she’s cool!

Here is my interview with Skulduggery. I hope you enjoy it.

Cory Corey: Hi, Skulduggery! What is your favourite adventure so far?

Skulduggery Pleasant: Good evening, Corey! My favourite adventure so far would have to be the one that Derek Landy wrote about in the first ‘Skulduggery Pleasant’ book. I liked it because, as you know, Nefarian Serpine was my greatest enemy for a very long time (and not just because he had such big ears), so finally getting my revenge on him made me feel very happy.

GC: What adventure do you think was the most difficult?

SP: I think that the adventure that was the most difficult so far would be in ‘Kingdom of the Wicked’, when Valkyrie became Darquesse in order to defeat Doran Purcell, Kitana Kellaway, Sean Mackin and Argeddion. This adventure was particularly difficult because Darquesse is incredibly strong, and I didn’t know if I would be able to bring Valkyrie back. But I did, because clearly I am stronger than I think. And probably cooler than I think too.

GC: Out of all the things that have happened to you, what was the most shocking?

SP: The most shocking thing that has happened to me so far is when I let Valkyrie drive the Bentley. I’m joking. The most shocking thing so far is when I was stuck in the portal with the Faceless Ones. That was not very fun (but I probably won’t let Valkyrie drive the Bentley again any time soon).

GC: Which bad guy was the toughest to defeat?

SP: The toughest bad guy to defeat so far was the White Cleaver. Cleavers are very skilled fighters and should be feared, but they are trained to work for the Sanctuary, and so they are there to protect you and keep you safe. Because it is incredibly rare for you to ever have to fight one, it’s difficult to learn their fighting pattern and combat style, which meant that the White Cleaver was very difficult to fight.

GC: Which villain do you think is the funniest?

SP: The funniest villain was Nefarian Serpine because he was hilarious to look at. Bad style and big ears makes for a hilarious combination.

GC: What do you like most about Valkyrie Cain?

SP: There are a lot of things that I like about Valkyrie Cain (don’t tell her I told you that), but my favourite thing is how strong she is. Bravery and strength often combine into one, and there is never a time when Valkyrie will run away or hide from the things that scare her most.

GC: What music do you like?

SP: Music is a wonderful thing but I don’t often get a chance to listen to it (what with me saving the world so often). Whenever I do, I enjoy listening to a lot of different things, ranging from classical music to old country songs. When I was your age, we didn’t have music as you know it. We had to make a lot of it using instruments that we made ourselves at home, so I would probably say that old country music is my favourite because it reminds me of my childhood and gives me a sense of nostalgia.

GC: What scares you?

SP: Many things scare me- losing my favourite hat, scratching the Bentley, crashing the Bentley, losing the Bentley… And ripping my favourite suit.

GC: If I want to be cool like you, what should I do?

SP: You are very cool. But if you want to grow up to be as cool as me (I wouldn’t blame you), make sure that you pay attention in school, help your family as much as you can, do all of your homework, and always be kind to everyone you meet. Then you will definitely be as cool as me, and if you do all of that, one day when you are grown up, I will let you wear my hat and drive the Bentley. Do we have a deal?

GC: Deal!

SP: Thank you for contacting me Corey. It has been a pleasure to answer your questions and to speak to you. Stay out of trouble, and don’t do anything that I wouldn’t do!

Until the end,

Detective Skulduggery Pleasant

GC: Thank you!

I hope you enjoyed reading this interview, and also hope you check out the Skulduggery Pleasant books. Then you can be cool too!

Stay happy and promote horror.

Gory Corey.

Dead Or Alive

Skulduggery, Valkyrie and Omen return in the 14th and penultimate novel in the internationally bestselling Skulduggery Pleasant series – and their most epic test yet…

In a matter of days, the world will change.

Billions of lives will be wiped away in a final, desperate search for the Child of the Faceless Ones ― she who is destined to bring about the return of humankind’s ancient overlords.

To prevent this, Skulduggery Pleasant and Valkyrie Cain have one last – terrible – option: the assassination of Damocles Creed. With protests stirring in the magical city of Roarhaven, with riots and revolutions on the horizon, Valkyrie must decide who she wants to be: the hero who risks everything for a noble ideal, or the killer who sacrifices her own soul for the fate of humanity.

The decision must be made, and time is running out.

Gory Corey

Corey is a reader, gamer, and writer from the U.K.

His Daddy’s name is Simon Paul Wilson, and he writes books. One day, Corey will too.

Corey likes to read books by Derek Landy, Terry Pratchet, and R.L. Stine.

Derek Landy

Derek Landy is far too modest to talk about any awards or accolades his books may have won. He will not, for instance, mention the fact that his first book, Skulduggery Pleasant, won the Red House Children’s Book Award, or that his second, Playing With Fire, won an Irish Book Award for Children’s Book of the Year, or that his third, The Faceless Ones, is his mother’s personal favourite.

He lives in Ireland with a variety of cats, a German Shepherd, and two geriatric Staffordshire Bull Terriers who keep peeing on his kitchen floor because they think it’s funny.
