{Feature} Kendall Reviews Presents Steve Stred’s Books From The Crypt 5

When I find myself loving books, I tend to recommend them

Sharing my love of horror, let me read.

And when the book gets super dark, I know I’ll be raving about it

Sharing my love of gruesome, let me read.’

And here all you suckers reading this thought surely the Beatles would be too sacred for him to butcher their lyrics!

HA!

Any who. Here we are! The fifth installment of Booooooooooks From the Cryyyyyyppppptttttt!

True story – Gavin said if I was able to make it to the fifth installment without Netflix cancelling this series, he’d pay me $50!!! (Paypal works, mate!)

So, for those new to my madness with this column, what the hell is Books From the Crypt?

It’s where, I, Mr. Steve Stred, share three books I’ve enjoyed over the years that more people need to read. The caveat – at the time of writing this, the book has to have less than 50 Goodreads ratings.

SIMPLES? Simples!

Here we go!

Flora & Jim – B.P. Gregory

Released July 30, 2018

I’m a massive fan of snow-based horror and Gregory throws in a post-apocalyptic storyline on top of snow to really make the reader freeze. This was a brutal story about loneliness and survival.

The Mourner’s Cradle: A Widow’s Journey – Tommy B. Smith

Released September 14, 2018

After her husband dies, his widow decides to try and find the truth behind a discovery he had suggested. This was a dark read, filled with equal parts grief and adventure.

By Year’s End: A Year 47 Anthology – Edited by Bo Chappell

Released November 25, 2018

I may have gone into things backwards, but I ended up reading ‘By Year’s End’ an anthology based on Bo Chappell’s ‘Year 47’ novel, before the novel! Saying that, I loved it. Each story had a feeling and weight to it. Definitely one I recommend for fans of western-post-apocalyptic-horror!

Alright! Three more done and dusted!

Join me again next month where I’ll tell you what I spent that $50 on and butcher more classic lyrics!
