{Feature} Kendall Reviews Presents Steve Stred’s Books From The Crypt 3

Sometime ago, I don’t remember when

I read a book and recommend it to a friend.

They said it read easy and it made their nerves queasy

I smiled and recommended that book again.’

Column three. In the first I butchered Eminem lyrics. In the second, Whitesnake. So, month three – One Headlight by The Wallflowers. You are most welcome.

Books From the Crypt is here once again to recommend you three pieces of amazing fiction for you to gobble up and enjoy.

For those unfamiliar – the only caveat is, that as of writing my column, the book has less than 50 Goodreads ratings!

Let’s dive in shall we?

The Followers – Greg Chapman

Released January 15, 2016

My introduction to Greg’s work, this was a fast, brutal story. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, Chapman took things to a very dark place. Loved it and was my gateway book to making me a fan of his writing.

Train Thoughts – Jay Sigler

Released April 4, 2018

I was recommended this by Justin M. Woodward and wow, what a story. A psychological thriller filled to the brim with suspense, we follow a person who rides a train and begins to develop ‘relationships’ with the other passengers. Great stuff.

Coil – Ren Warom

Released June 18th, 2019

A brutally dark mix of horror and sci-fi, Ren Warom’s ‘Coil’ caught me completely off guard. I was expecting a fairly straight forward story, but this bleak read is layered with a lot of different ideas here. Really well done.
